Santa Tecla - Santiagueno 91-72 No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Santa Tecla (8-5) crushed at home 9th ranked Santiagueno (1-11) 91-72 on Sunday. They outrebounded Santiagueno 57-35 including a 40-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Santa Tecla looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Luis Escoto (180-96) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Luis Portal (188-86) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard EJ Blackwell (193, college: Lourdes) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists and his fellow American import Xavier Eaglin (201-97, college: PVAMU) added 26 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks in the effort for Santiagueno. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place. Santiagueno lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. Santa Tecla are looking forward to face league's second-placed San Salvador on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
